Alright, having heard about this “Racial Harmony” competition, I decided to share with you guys on what has gone on in my life since young as well as the present.
At the age of 4, I met this girl named “Melisa” who is one of my best friends during my kindergarten age. Her mums constantly bake Malay cookies for me to try everyday. Was very thankful at that time, now, it start to make me wonder... how well have she been.
During my secondary school years, I remember at every racial harmony celebrations, my school will encourage every student to dress up in other races’ costumes – to mix and mingle. However, I only had chances to wear the baju kurung and the songkok. The Indian costumes were harder to get.
I remember having to know this group of friends in secondary school which contains a mixture of 2 Chinese (including me) as well as Mina, who is a tamil friend of mine. I learnt several basic tamil languages at that point in time. This was the sentence I remember most – “ni pal ku li ki rai” (which actually means you drinking milk”). Maybe there isn’t much link to this topic, but it just shows how much people from other races can actually have an impact in your life.
This year, I finally met up with Mina and did some life-catching up. She has finally grown up, having to set up a business at Little India. I am assisting her in coming up with her company’s website. We both are working well together till now.
Coming along with my little story of my little life, I have prepared a poster for this year – Racial Harmony 2008. It is dedicated to not only my friends of the other races, but also to the future friends I am going to make this year.

Ps:
Maybe it is just a great idea if QUAFFS can actually organize a day for
“Racial Harmony” where people of different races and meet and celebrate
together!
Cheers!
